Refuse To Fear

Refuse To Fear

“For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” – 2 Timothy 1:7

Fear is not from God—it is a tactic of the enemy to rob you of peace, clarity, and confidence. The moment you feel fear rise up, you must recognize it as an intruder, not a rightful resident in your heart. God’s Word is clear: you have been given power, love, and a sound mind—not anxiety, panic, or defeat.

Many believers find themselves battling fear when trials arise. Whether it's a financial challenge, a health report, or an uncertain future, fear tries to take the lead. But just as faith is a force that pulls the promises of God into your present reality, fear works as faith in reverse. It opens the door to the very things you hope won’t happen.

But there’s good news—perfect love casts out fear. When you understand how deeply God loves you, fear loses its grip. God's love is not just a feeling; it's a powerful force that shields, guides, and fights for you. When you know God is for you, no one and no thing can stand successfully against you (Romans 8:31).

To live fearlessly is not about denying challenges—it’s about choosing who you trust when the storm comes.

Three Things to Practice to Overcome Fear

  1. Feed Your Faith Daily

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” – Romans 10:17
Get in the Word. Read scriptures about God's love, His protection, and your authority in Christ. When the Word saturates your mind, fear has no place to dwell.

  2. Speak Love and Victory Out Loud

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” – Proverbs 18:21
Don’t let fear have the final word. Declare, “God loves me. He is with me. I will not fear!” Speaking God’s promises breaks the agreement with fear and aligns your atmosphere with faith.

  3. Stay in the Presence of God

“In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” – Psalm 16:11
Worship, pray, and rest in Him. Fear cannot remain where God’s presence is honored. The more aware you are of His nearness, the more confident you become in His care.

Confession Prayer

Father, I thank You that fear is not my portion. You have given me power, love, and a sound mind. I renounce every lie of fear that tries to grip my heart and imagination. I declare that I am loved by You and nothing can separate me from Your love. I will not fear the future, I will not fear lack, I will not fear failure. I stand boldly in Your promises. Because You are with me, I will not be shaken. Perfect love casts out all fear—and Your love lives in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
