Grace Is Still Working in You

Grace Is Still Working in You

Scripture Reference: Philippians 2:13 (NLT)
“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”

When we give our lives to Christ, a powerful and supernatural transformation begins. Our spirit is instantly made alive in Christ—reborn and redeemed. But while the spirit is made new, the soul—our mind, will, and emotions—begins a longer journey. This journey is one of daily renewal, not overnight perfection.

Many believers become discouraged shortly after salvation, wondering why certain habits or thoughts haven't disappeared. The truth is, while our identity changes in an instant, our lifestyle transformation is a process. It is a daily walk of grace and growth.

Philippians 2:13 reminds us of something profound: God is the one working in us, not only changing what we do but transforming what we desire. That means your transformation isn’t dependent on your willpower alone. God is giving you both the desire and the ability to live a life that pleases Him.

Grace doesn't just save you—it sustains you. It empowers you to walk away from old patterns and grow into the new man or woman God created you to be. And guess what? Grace is patient. God doesn't abandon you because you still struggle. He walks with you, covers you, and lovingly leads you forward.

You might still see some old traits or habits hang around longer than you'd like. But don't let that cause you to condemn yourself or question your salvation. The fact that you're even concerned about pleasing God is a sign that His Spirit is working within you. He's changing your appetite. He's forming Christ in you.

The more time you spend in His Word and His presence, the more you'll see your life reflect His will. It doesn’t happen overnight—but it does happen. Your role is to trust His process, yield to His Spirit, and lean on His grace—not your strength.

Remember this: God’s not done with you. His grace is still working.

Confession Prayer:

Father, I thank You for saving me and making me new. Even when I don’t see change right away, I trust that You are working in me. Thank You for giving me the desire to do Your will. I choose to rest in Your grace today. I surrender my habits, my thoughts, and my struggles to You. I declare that I am being transformed daily into the image of Christ. I am not who I used to be, and I am becoming all You’ve called me to be. In Jesus’ name,
