God is Bigger than Your Problem
14 Then in the midst of the assembly the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph. 15 He said, “Listen carefully, all [you people of] Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat. The Lord says this to you: ‘Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
This passage of scripture is one of my favorite passages to read when I am facing trouble. All of us face some kind of trouble in our lives sooner or later. What do you do when it seems like trouble is facing you from every side. In the past I would try and handle the situation by myself using my own tactics and things I had learned from my parents and others over the years. Many times that did not work. I had to use the word of God and I learned from the word of God that God fights for me.
Yes, my friend, you don't have to fight your battles. God will fight them for you. In this passage King Jehosophat has several armies coming against him and he and his people were tremendously outnumbered. He had no idea what to do. The first thing they wanted to do was panic and fear the worst. Listen, you cannot let fear come in when you are facing troubles. This is exactly what satan wants for your life. He wants you to panic and fear. The word of God tells us in Isaiah 59:19 that "When the enemy comes in, LIKE A FLOOD, the spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. You know what that means? God will FIGHT for you and you will WIN, if you put your trust in him.
So don't panic and don't you fear when trouble comes. You should do what Jehosophat did. You know what he did? He went out to fight his enemies and before he went to fight, he had his people to praise and worship God as they went to face this massive army. What happened? He did not have to fight or raise a sword. As soon as the people begin praising and worshipping God, God sent angels against the enemy armies and the angels caused them to turn against one another, killing each other. That is how our heavenly father rolls. He fights for us!
Today, take the time to worship God in the midst of trouble and see your victory come to pass.
Pray this prayer: Heavenly father, I trust you to deliver me from my troubles. Every issue that is before me will cease because you fight for me. I praise you today as my father and my Lord and because you love me, I know that this trouble must cease. I will not worry. I will not fear. You are the Lord of the breakthrough and you will see me through in Jesus name. I believe I win because you are fighting for me today. Amen!
